DJ Aztek (sometimes also a2t3k) is a multi-genre DJ and promoter who has been active on the electronic music scene since 1996. His roots are tied to free party culture—as a founding member of the Metro soundsystem and an active member of Roots’n’Future, he was there at the very formation of the local underground scene.
The foundation of his sets consists of techno in various forms, as well as jungle, drum’n’bass, or breakbeat. But he doesn’t stop there. Over the years, he has expanded his sound to include electro, ghetto funk, and bass music, and has added sets built on Balkan/gypsy music, cumbia, acid jazz, blues, or swing to his repertoire. He has presented his art to audiences in many countries across Europe and Latin America. In addition to DJing itself, he has long been dedicated to producing and organising club nights, free open-airs, and festivals both in the Czech Republic and abroad. His performances are characterised by high energy and a meticulous selection of tracks—whether he sticks to a single style or seamlessly navigates through multiple musical genres.
